“I started working Xanterra in 1989 at The Grand Canyon in the kitchen and after many years seasonally with the company, I am currently a Retail Supervisor. I am a people person and I like to talk to guests from all over the world and help them with finding the merchandise that will give them good memories of the Grand Canyon. I grew up on the Navajo reservation in Northern Arizona in a small town called Ganado, Arizona. I was taught by my grandmother, her family, and many friends about the Navajo language, culture, food and history. This helped me out while working in my current position at the Hopi House. I am also the type of person that likes to get a smile on people's faces such as any employees I come in contact with.”

Where do you see this experience taking you?

"I’m very happy where I am in the company and having the opportunity to live and work at the Grand Canyon. I came for the canyon, and work was truly secondary, but Xanterra has been the cherry on top of it all. It comes full circle. If you love where you live and love where you work, each of those components compliment each other and life just circles around and around. For me, even a “bad” day is a great one because I have the Grand Canyon as a backyard and Xanterra as my employer."
