About Us

The Grand Canyon Railway and Hotel is a year-round operation, employing approximately 300 employees and approximately 100 seasonal employees in November through January for our world-renowned Polar Express Event.

Our resort property consists of a 298-room hotel, a 128-paved space RV Park and kennel, two dining locations featuring a full buffet and a pub-style bar and dining room, and three retail locations. In addition to our wonderful resort property, we operate full Train Mechanical and Train Engineering Departments. These departments are unique and offer specialized positions such as Train Engineer, Conductor, Carmen, Passenger Service Attendants, Train Mechanics, and a Steam Operators Program.

The Grand Canyon Railway and Hotel is located in the beautiful mountain town of Williams, Arizona, about 64 miles from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Housing

  • The Grand Canyon Railway does not offer room and board however, discounted meals are offered to employees as follows:
    • Breakfast $4.00 plus tax
    • Dinner $7.00 plus tax

  • Employees must be on-shift to receive this discount, otherwise, it is 50% off for the employee and they can bring up to 5 others with them for 20% off of each of them.
  • Spencer’s Pub employees receive 20% off their food purchase, excluding alcohol.

Our employees come from across the country and around the world which makes working at The Grand Canyon Railway a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Williams, AZ is located in the mountains of Northern Arizona. There is much to explore such as hiking, kayaking, camping, fishing, jeeping, and climbing. Known as the gateway to the Grand Canyon, Williams is a small town located directly on Historic Route 66. The historic downtown district is home to many restaurants, coffee shops, gift shops, and popular breweries. Also located in Williams is the popular drive-through wildlife sanctuary, Bearizona, and the Deer Farm. There is a grocery store in Williams, but locals do most of their shopping in the nearby city of Flagstaff. Want to get out of town and visit the big city? Williams is approximately a 3-hour drive north of Phoenix, and a 3-hour drive east of Las Vegas, Nevada.
