Why Choose a Helping Hands Job in Yellowstone?

  • You can’t commit to working for a full season. This shorter period of time might be more suitable and offer a sampling of the flavor of the park.
  • You are flexible. If you’re looking for variety, this is perfect, as each day may bring a different job.
  • You are a team player. While Helping Hands may be only a part-time job, it requires a commitment to serving the department you are assigned to.

"I had the great privilege to be a member of the pilot Helping Hands Crew last fall at Lake Hotel and Lodge! It was a wonderful experience. I adapted easily to dorm life and I actually enjoyed the EDR food. I made friends of all ages. I enjoyed the variety of my work duties and never missed a shift. It was very gratifying to help out the full-time folks and feel so appreciated by them and our managers. The part-time Helping Hands schedule allowed me time to pursue my passion, photography… I can’t wait to return to Yellowstone.”

Erica Brown

“The [Helping Hands] program has been great. I have interacted with all of them and [they] are truly a pleasure to work with. They have been a huge help in all of the departments and I only wish that we had received more of them, especially here at Old Faithful.”

Cody Lockner, Old Faithful Location Operations Manager

“My wife Debra and I worked for the Helping Hands program from September 4 to October 11, 2018 at the Lake Yellowstone Hotel, where we thoroughly enjoyed meeting the hotel staff. They are a great bunch of individuals who make a super team. To be honest, we did not know what to expect before we checked in, but we were very pleasantly surprised.

[The food was] always plenty, always well prepared, always a good variety, always very tasty. [The accommodations were] very much adequate to our needs. Again, we did not know what to expect, but what was given to us was excellent.

Our overall impression was that we had a great time…we love the Helping Hands program and hope that you will continue the program.”
